EMERGENCIES

will take precedence over any appointment.

The welfare of someone’s pet in a critical situation requires immediate attention!

.

First time clients MUST make an appointment for an office visit an pet checkup to establish a client/patient/doctor relationship (PA State law) with Pocono Lake Animal Hospital prior to any service or first time boarding. We require an initial general checkup of your pet to obtain history, vitals and ensure the health of your animal especially if boarding or recieving services.

If you have had a prior veterinarian, faxed records would be appreciated to ensure a full history on your pet. Though we make every effort to make our patients (your pet) feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. We must insist that ALL animals must be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Visiting from out of state? We will gladly help you with any of your pet's needs; records will be faxed back to your regular veterinarian back home to ensure there is a complete medical history for your pet!

PLEASE CALL IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE OR NEED TO RESCHEDULE.

  • For everyone's protection, all animals must be on properly restrained at all times (leashed, carrier) and controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.
  • Please refrain from using your cell phone in the office and during the consultation time with the Doctor or Technician as this may delay your appointment time.

  • We must insist that our technicians and staff be allowed to restrain your animals during all procedures. Even the best-tempered and most well-behaved animal can be startled outside of their home envionment, and a panicked animal can hurt itself or others. Our staff are trained in proper restraint techniques to keep you, them, and your pet safe.
